Lindisfarne’s second album Fog On the Tyne is their best known and most popular album. Originally released on Charisma Records, Fog On The Tyne was Lindisfarne’s breakthrough album, topping the charts in 1972 and becoming the biggest selling British album of 1972!
Their first hit single "Meet Me On The Corner" (written by Rod Clements), came from this album and reached No. 5 in the UK singles Chart. The title track was also later released in 1974 as a single.
The album was produced by Bob Johnston and engineered by Ken Scott at Trident Studios.
This new version faithfully reproduced in a gatefold sleeve, contains both the LP (on 180g heavyweight vinyl) and a CD of the album remastered by Ray Staff at Air Mastering, 2012.
The Billy Mitchell Band featuring Ray Laidlaw are perfoming Fog on the Tyne in its entirety as part of The Lindisfarne Story in the Autumn. Ray Laidlaw: "I've been wanting to play these songs again for ages. There's a story behind every song and I'm looking forward to sharing them with Lindisfarne fans."
