Rod Clements confirmed as special guest at The Lindisfarne Story: Newcastle City Hall

Rod Clements, one of Lindisfarne's founder members and composer of the group's biggest hit “Meet Me on the Corner” has been confirmed as special guest at The Lindisfarne Story when The Billy Mitchell Band, featuring Ray Laidlaw, perform the show on Saturday 8th June at Newcastle City Hall.
Rod said: "Ray and Billy have come up with a highly original way to keep Lindisfarne’s legacy alive, and I’m looking forward to joining them again on stage at the City Hall after all these years".
This will be the only time this year these three ex-Lindisfarne members will be playing together on stage.

Ray Jackson has announced that LINDISFARNE are back......permanently.
All six members of the new LINDISFARNE, (the 3rd line-up that Ray Jackson has founded in a career spanning over 40 years) are from Tyneside. Ray Jackson’s LINDISFARNE will only be performing Christmas Shows this December, including a third night at Newcastle City Hall, Middlesbrough, Harrogate and Hull.
Ray Jackson’s LINDISFARNE are:
- Ray Jackson (from the original LINDISFARNE......mandolin/harmonica/lead vocals)
- Dave Hull-Denholm (from the 1990’s LINDISFARNE line-up......guitars/lead vocals)
- Paul Thompson (from Roxy Music.....known by Roxy Music fans worldwide as “The Great Paul Thompson”.......drums)
- Ian Thomson (from the 1990’s LINDISFARNE line-up......bass guitar/double bass/vocals)
- Charlie Harcourt (from LINDISFARNE Mk 2.......guitars/vocals)
- Steve Daggett (toured and recorded with the (reformed in 1978) original line-up......guitars/keyboards/vocals)
On the subject of the involvement of the remaining members of the original line-up, the manager of the new Lindisfarne, Barry McKay, says:
"I do hope that the time will be right in years to come, for the 4 remaining members of the original band to appear together on stage at Newcastle City Hall at Christmas. There will be Christmas Shows in Newcastle ever year from now onwards and so perhaps this is something to look forward to at some future time. Meanwhile there is much to enjoy in 2013. Following the announcement of the new line-up, circa 50% of the tickets for December 20th are already sold. This show will sell out soon and no further shows will be added this year."

Rod's been very active of late...
First, there's a double CD in the works featuring all the songs he wrote for Lindisfarne and Jack the Lad. He's also been recording with Dave Rotheray, formerly of the Beautiful South, and Eliza Carthy. And recently, he's recorded some music for a forthcoming film with former bandmate Ray Laidlaw.
He's got a number of gigs coming up around the UK, including one in Tynemouth with Ian Thomson on double bass.
